What qualifies your trade show displays as "green?"
Vector Displays' green trade show exhibits are constructed from a variety of recycled, recyclable, renewable, and energy-efficient materials, including, but not limited to the following:
  • Recycled plastic bottles
  • Recycled industrial plastic
  • Reclaimed and recycled wood fiber
  • Recycled aluminum
  • Recycled high-pressure laminates
  • Bamboo, eucalyptus, and sorghum
  • Water-based glues
  • Soy-based inks
  • Energy-saving LED lighting
What is the difference between recycled and recyclable materials?
Here is a simple definition of recycled and recyclable as it pertains to our trade show displays. Recycled materials can be turned into something else. For example, recycled plastic bottles can be used to create carpet, tabletops, and graphics. Recyclable materials are those that can be reused as other products. For instance, both aluminum and wood parts on trade show displays can be cut and formed to make other parts for other trade show displays.
Which renewable resources do you use in your green trade show exhibits?
First, let's define the term "renewable resource." A renewable resource is one that the earth can replenish. Wood is an example because it comes from trees, which can be replanted. Other renewable resources that Vector Displays uses include bamboo, sorghum, and eucalyptus. Because these three plants grow faster than trees, they provide a more sustainable solution for trade show exhibit materials than wood.
Are green trade show exhibits more expensive than non-sustainable trade show exhibits?
In many cases, green materials are now only slightly more expensive than traditional materials. Several years ago they cost 30-50% more, but that is no longer true because a greater number of supplies are on the market. However, keep in mind that many green trade show initiatives actually reduce your overall exhibition costs, which offsets the higher raw material costs for some green components. For example, by utilizing lighter and less volume fabric graphics, there is potential money savings on freight/shipping and drayage, as well as the possibility of reduced labor costs because of easier installation and dismantle on the show floor.

Client Comments

"Vector Displays built our company a green trade show display that did not look any different from or cost more than a display that did not meet sustainability standards. We consider that quite an achievement and are very satisfied with our green trade show display and with Vector Displays' work."
